CNC Industries initiates a coolant management program using the Coolant Wizard Senior, reducing coolant purchases by 90%

Trim-sol from Master Chemical, soluble oil, water miscible metal working coolant

Previous Controls:
Regular additions of biocide and cleaning of machine sumps

Solution:
The Coolant Wizard reconditioning system was put in operation in mid-March 1996 and is being used to manage the coolant in the machine sumps. CNC Industries operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and the Coolant Wizard is operating the same hours. They process each sump and when the last sump is processed, they start over with the first machine. The company has 10 machines with an average of 50 to 60 gallon sumps. Process time for each sump is 1 hour and 40 minutes to 2 hours. There has been no significant maintenance required on the Coolant Wizard and the case of final filter elements, 8 each, has lasted over a year. Operator involvement is less than 15 minutes per shift.

Conclusion:
Prior to implementing the coolant management program the customer was buying 1 to 1.5 drums of coolant concentrate each month. They were having the spent coolant hauled away at “a high price”. Since beginning use of the Coolant Wizard, coolant purchase and disposal have been down by as much as 90% a year.
